Variety Evaluation of Strong Aroma Style Flue-cured Tobacco in South Anhui Province

To identify the tobacco varieties which can reveal the burnt-sweet smelling characteristics in the south of Anhui province, a field experiment was conducted to test the newly introduced and bred seven varieties. The effects of their agronomic characters, yields, physiological indices, chemical composition and structure of tissue section on tobacco growth and quality of leaves were investigated. The results showed that the NC71 had sweet temperament and better aroma, carotenoids accumulation, the largest organization structure was loose. K326 had obvious burnt-sweet smelling and the degradation of carotenoids quantity of the flue-cured tobacco was the biggest and could reveal the burnt-sweet smelling characteristics in the south of Anhui province. NC71 and variety K326 varieties were suited to the ecological condition of strong aroma style in the south of Anhui, and had certain production potential.
