Ecological Protection and Remediation of Tobacco-Growing Soils in Continuous Cropping Regions

According to the current situation of continuous cropping problem in mountainous regions which will remain for a certain period, an in-depth investigation on typical areas and farmers was executed by Enshi tobacco company of Hubei Province. A lot of related research (i.e.: soil pH of regulation, crumb structure improvement, beneficial microbial community restoration) were carried out, and a number of ecological protection and remediation technologies (i.e..: ploughing, green manure technology, organic manure fertilization, potassium nitrate, nutrition soil and lime application) were developed. The integration of the technologies was successfully applied to the recovery and development of Enshi tobacco producing regions, which can provide useful reference for other tobacco growing regions and other agricultural systems.
