Abstract
Flavonoids are a common group of polyphenolic compounds and the most important precursors for aroma components in tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum). In this paper, the current research progress on the related genes of tobacco involved in flavonoid biosynthesis pathways was summarized. It provided useful information for application of the molecular regulation of flavonoid biosynthetic genes for improvement of tobacco leaf quality.
