Breeding and Characteristics of a New Flue-cured Tobacco Variety Chuanyan102

The new flue-cured tobacco variety Chuanyan102 was developed through pedigree selection with (K326 × Yunyan85) F₁ as the female parent and (NC86 × Coker176) F₁ as the male parent. The plant of Chuanyan102 grew uniformly and vigorously, and was tube-shaped with long elliptical leaves. Chuanyan102 was immune to TMV, moderately resistant to black shank disease and brown spot disease, with comprehensive resistance superior to K326. The leaves yellowed and ripened well and was easy to cure. Compared with K326 and Yunyan87, its synthetic economic traits were significantly superior or superior, the appearance quality of cured leaves was higher or comparable, while its sensory quality and physical characteristics were better. The synthetic quality of Chuanyan102 was comparable to that of K326 and Yunyan 87. Chuanyan102 is a new flue-cured tobacco variety with good quality, economic traits, disease resistance, and wide adaptability, and is suitable to be planted in Southwest or Southeast China.
