    Effects of Combined Application of Organic and Chemical Fertilizers on Plastid Pigment and its Degraded Products in Flue-cured Tobacco

    • Abstract: Effects of combined application of organic and chemical fertilizers on plastid pigment and its degraded products in flue-cured tobacco was investigated with field experiments. The result shows that the contents of chlorophyll and carotenoid with the treatment of organic fertilizers were significantly (at 5% level) higher than those with no organic fertilizers treatment. Chlorophyll contents with T6 treatment (100% sesame seed cake fertilizer) and carotenoid contents with T4 treatment (50% chemical fertilizers and 50% sesame seed cake fertilizers) were the highest among all of the 6 treatments. But for the ratio between carotenoid and chlorophyll, T4 was the highest, T6 the lowest. The contents of aromatic components of the cartenoids, neophytadiene and the plastid pigment degraded products increased by varying degrees except for the cutters of T5 (25% chemical fertilizers and 75% sesame seed cake fertilizers), and the highest contents of them were T4, T3 (75% chemical fertilizers and 25% sesame seed cake fertilizers), T3 respectively in lower leaves, and always T4 among the cutters and upper leaves. Therefore, 50% chemical fertilizers and 50% sesame seed cake fertilizers have the greatest effects on plastid pigment and its degraded products in flue-cured tobacco, especially in the upper leaves.
