Effects of Different Grouping on Green Blend Module’s Quality

    • In order to study the principles and methods of green blending & grouping in Chinese Type Cigarette, different stalk positions (leaf, cutter and lugs) and grades of Yunnan tobacco leaf in a county were studied and grouped to 12 blend modules, based on appearance quality, chemical components and sensory quality individually. These modules were evaluated and selected, and their formula were adjusted to form 4 blend modules, which were fit for the standard of aⅠbrand A and a Ⅱ brand B Favored Tobacco Leaf. The results showed that several principles and methods of blending & grouping should be combined together. Appearance quality and physical indices were the basic, simple and practical principal and method in green blending & grouping, and chemical components as well as sensory quality were the blend adjusting and changing, verifying methods, that the stocks and cost also should be taken into account.
