Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between stable isotope and chemical components in flue-cured tobacco leaves by statistical approach. The results showed that variation of δ13C stable isotope was low but the variation of δ15N stable isotope was high in the tobacco leaves. The δ13C stable isotope was positively and significantly correlated with δ15N, positively and high significantly correlated with leaf total nitrogen content, negatively and significantly correlated with C/N and K+. The results from canonical correlation analysis showed that the potassium content and K/Cl in tobacco leaves decreased with the increasing of abundance of δ13C stable isotope, which demonstrated that there was possible relationship between stable isotope and chemical components, and chemical components in tobacco leaves could be influenced by the abundance of stable isotopes.
