Abstract
To evaluate the effects of priming on the seed germination of various tobacco varieties, seed colors, electric conductivity and germination rate of 10 tobacco varieties were used to study. The results showed that: CV of the electric conductivity was bigger than seed colors. There was significant correlation between seed color and electric conductivity. 10 tobacco varieties could be divided into 3 groups: low viability with high germination, moderate viability with high germination, and high viability with low germination types. Primed and dried treatment improved the speed and uniformity of seed germination, especially for low viability varieties, whose germination could reached 90% in 76 h.
