Spatial Variability Characteristics of Available Cu and Zn in Tobacco Planting Soils in Liangshan and Panzhihua, Sichuan Province

Abstract: Micro nutrients not only influence tobacco growth, yield and quality, and take the positive or antagonistic effects for each other sometimes. In order to apply micronutrients properly in tobacco production, and provide scientific information for improving the yield and quality of tobacco, geostatistics and GIS were used to study the spatial variability characteristics of available Cu and Zn in tobacco planting soils in Langshan and Panzhihua. The result indicated that the average content of available Cu was abundant, and the average content of available Zn is moderate, which were respectively 2.83 and 1.86 mg/kg. Available Cu and Zn contents varied largely among counties due to differences in topography and climate. The available Cu and Zn contents were higher in paddy and yellow soils than those in purplish soil, and were negatively correlated with elevation. The spatial variation distance of available Cu and Zn were 50 and 25 km, respectively, which belonged to moderate intensity spatial variation, which was influenced by structural factors like soil type and random factors like fertilizer. Interpolation results indicated that the content of available Cu and Zn distributed in patch shape as a whole, but distributions of their high value area and low value area were obviously different.
